Faith in corrugated cardboard
It is environmentally friendly, protects products and is great to work with.
One of the basic manifestations of this faith is our packaging portfolio, in which corrugated cardboard makes up 60%.
Corrugated cardboard is a matter of the heart for us at Servisbal. It is a wonderfully malleable material that is great to work with. It is lightweight, but also strong enough when used correctly. It is easy to adjust and fold, so it can be adapted to almost any shape. It has a beautiful natural brown colour and is easy to print. It is cheap but at the same time applicable for the protection of even very expensive products.
The most important thing from an environmental point of view: it is 100% recyclable, comes from renewable sources and leaves no harmful substances behind.
Corrugated cardboard is a renewable material
It is made from natural raw materials, recycled or virgin wood pulp fibres, which are bonded with a natural starch-based adhesive.
In Europe, fibre comes from renewable sources – sustainably managed forests – helping to preserve natural resources for current and future generations. Thus, cardboard represents a natural alternative to fossil-based products.
While new trees are planted every day, the paper industry is increasingly using softwood thinning along with waste wood chips discarded at sawmills and waste paper.
Corrugated cardboard is at the top in terms of environmental considerations
The champion of the circular economy is corrugated cardboard.
It is 100% recyclable and its fibres can be reused up to 9 times.
It is fully biodegradable – degradable by natural processes.
Its recycling process is well managed and works. The market for the secondary raw material for its production, mainly sorted used paper, is well developed, so that 89% of the total amount of cardboard produced in Europe is made from the secondary raw material.
